Our History |
The Wessex Regionalists, the Party for Wessex, campaigns for a regional parliament for the traditional counties of Berkshire, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire (including Bristol), Hampshire (including the Isle of Wight), Oxfordshire, Somerset and Wiltshire. The party was founded in 1974, making it the oldest regionalist party in England. We have contested nine parliamentary elections since then, the last two standing against David Cameron in his Witney constituency. This will be our first local election campaign.
