Bristol City Council have released the total number of verified votes for all wards. Eastville had a total of 4305 votes verified,, making a turnout of 44%. Of these, 3228 were from polling stations, and a further 1077 were postal votes. This falls short of the expected totals by 4 votes: 3 from polling stations and one postal vote. That may not sound a lot, but it would have been enough to justify a recount in 2013, when Labour councillor Mhairi Threlfall beat Lib Dem runner-up Steven Comer by a single vote.
As for how many of those votes went to me, I shan't find out until the count tomorrow. Meanwhile, Sue Mountstevens has been re-elected as Police and Crime Commissioner (because who better to run the police than someone who used to own a chain of donut shops?), while Labour's Marvin Rees has been elected Mayor. As soon as I find out the results tomorrow, I will post them here.
